Ellen DeGeneres To End Her Talk Show Next Year; Says 'It's Just Not A Challenge Anymore'

The Ellen DeGeneres Show that made Ellen DeGeneres a household name, is reportedly going off-air. The show is said to be coming to an end in 2022, also this coincides with the expiry of her contract. Being one of the longest running shows, it began in 2003 and since then saw many celebs gracing it. As per reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the host though did not confirm, her statement hinted at the show coming to an end.
She mentioned being a creative person, one needs to be challenged constantly. Also while the show her gave a lot of avenues to be creative, she further stated it doesn’t challenge her anymore. She said, “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore.” It was only after Ellen came under the tight spot for treating her staff rudely and misbehaving with them, the show also recorded lesser viewership.
Later the host opened her 18th season by rendering an apology. As per Nielsen data, the show’s viewership came down by 1.1 million people, earlier when the show recorded 2.6 million viewership, it now recorded 1.5 million viewership.
Ellen was one of the celebs who has contracted deadly Coronavirus, announcing the same she said, “Obviously, there's a lot of negative things going on, so I want to talk about something positive, my COVID test. I'm fine now, I'm all good. Everything's clear.” She recuperated by remaining quarantined.
